Madeira sits about twelve miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati, an easy run off Interstate 71, and it grew up around the railroad. The line between Cincinnati and Parkersburg was finished through here in 1866, and the stop took the name of John Madeira, the landowner and railroad treasurer.
